The Citter Tradition is as ancient as it gets! It is considered to be over 10,000 years in it's practice, today practiced in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Singapore. Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka have dedicated university courses specifically in the medicinal courses to become a Doctor.
The Citter system of education is a time-honoured educational model, represents one of the oldest and most influential pedagogical practices that shaped not only Indian knowledge traditions but also the broader global understanding of holistic education and practices. The first year begins with the Perspectives, Context and Methodologies of Citter Yogam. The teaching and practice are designed to provide students with an understanding of key theoretical and practical approaches to the interpretation of the subject of yogam and spirituality and being introduced into the Citter Tradition and the Teachings of Citter Tirumular, Citter Bogar and Citter Aavayar as well as familiarity with those methodologies that will be utalised in the context of the course for the second year, creating a strong foundation for the student’s yogic growth and lifestyle and the practice of Citter Health Care
The first year also introduces the teachings and practice of Citter Healing. The training is ‘Perspectives’ – focus on study, practice, lifestyle management of experience where you will LEARN, PRACTICE, EXPERIENCE, DISCOVER & ENJOY for one’s self.
The second year begins with the focus on the Citter System and continuation of Citter Tirumular’s Teachings and practices. It’s meaning and value of interpretation in relation to one’s life, one’s purpose, how to accomplish one’s work in the present lifetime. The course has been set for the student to explore ways in which meaning and value are interpreted in relation to the category of ‘One’s Life’ and ‘Life itself’ in which one can obtain through Citter Yogam and Meditation.
‘Kunadlain Awakening’ is introduced to the student bring in Citter Aaviyar’s teachings of Kundalani.
The second year also continues in the training of the student in the teaching methodologies of Citter Yogam for others. They will have the opportunity to take classes under the watchful eye of their mentor.
Designed into the curriculum is the method of teaching and providing a practice of Citter Yogam to others.
Citter Healing practices continue until you begin to practice by the experiences you have got so far.
On completion of the 2 years and passing out of the course, successful students who have passed our standards of examination will be ready to go out into the world to be Practitioners of Citer Yogam and to teach. You will also be an expert in Citter Healing and use it as a profession to work with doctors to help heal people.
You will receive two different certificate – The first certificate certifies you as a ‘Master in Citter Yogam.’ The second certification certifies you as a 'Citter Healer.'

Program Description
As the first and only unique Diploma Course on Yoga & Citter Health Care in the world, this course brings you into the ancient practices of the Citters. Our Diploma Course on Yoga & Citter Health Care course and programme prepares you as yoga master and a Citter Healthcare therapist to thrive in a complex world as a person of ancient knowledge, expertise and wisdom to bring about nature based healthcare to the public.
Our students develop their applied yoga skills through Kurukulam learning, and healthcare through our clinical training practices, peer-peer experiential learning, yoga mastery through mentorship, and supervised health care practices to skill oneself.
Students begin their studies with a full year of kurukuam system of study and practice. There will be a comprehensive exam every 5 months to demonstrate your readiness and progress to us and to you.
In the second year of study, students are mentored by clinic faculty in the practice in telehealth settings. Along the way, students are equipped with a comprehensive foundation in the theoretical, scientific, and experiential training of yoga and Citter system of health care in one-one and small group settings.
Curriculum
The curriculum is anchored in client-centered, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care, where teaching styes will be honoured, honoring the Citter classical yoga tradition setting you into this particular yoga lineage. As a student you learn how to apply your whole ‘self’ in the witnessing and assessment of each client’s mind-body-heart-spirit system and story, and how to apply this wisdom and knowledge using scientific inquiry to design, delivery and evaluate comprehensive yoga training and for plans of health care in the Citter system. Students learn how to tailor the philosophy, practices and postures of yoga and to address individual health concerns; and to promote the benefits of the Citter System of practices in yoga and health care and yoga to multiple audiences (including future clients).
The course and practice provide a comprehensive understanding of the classical and theoretical foundations of the Citter System where yoga is one part and health and wellness care is another. It is these tow systems we bring together so that the student has an advantage in being a Yoga Master in the field of Citter yoga and as a Citter Health Care practitioner with an extensive knowledge of biomedical systems based on the Citter System from an integrative and holistic perspective. Students study both yogic and behavior change theoretical frameworks and conceptual models, so that they can develop their critical approach to integrating classical yogic wisdom and health care into evidence-informed plans of care. The course, programme and training also provide a strong foundation in the pathology of health and disease relevant to the practice of health care, and trains students how to design, deliver and evaluate a yoga practice for results and health care plans of care for clients based on their health and well-being goals and needs.
