Citter Massage Therapy Programme
The Healing Art of Massage
Citter Massage Therapy Training Programme
Begins October 2025
6 MONTH CITTER MASSAGE THERAPY & TRAINING
“Massage is the only form of physical pleasure to which nature forgot to attach consequences.”
Brush aside any thoughts that massage is only a feel-good way to indulge or pamper yourself and others. To the contrary, massage is a powerful tool to help you take charge of your health and well-being and also your loved ones, whether you or they have a specific health condition or are just looking for another stress reliever. Massage is a spiritual practice – a giving by you to others.
Connecting with yourself can lead you to question what is beautiful and sacred within.
What is Citter Massage?
Tamil Nadu is an ancient land where ancient Citters developed methods of Healing practices and Lifestyle Management as a root practice to keep body and mind healthy and rejuvenate.
One area of practice is massage. Massage is a part of the lifestyle of a person in the Tamil culture. It is a holistic treatment therapy that helps build overall good health as a regular basis, and is known to improve overall health and keeps the body away from toxins and illnesses and also relaxes the body giving it rest.
Citters formulated oils for massage to give different types of wellbeing. The practice improves blood circulation, enables removal of toxins and metabolic wastes, and gives relief for disorders such as stress, body aches, fatigue etc.
The 6 month training & practice at Chidambaram introduces you to this form of massage therapy as an aspirant to build on a skill to give relief to others. This give you a practical hands on opportunity to gain some experience in massage healing skills. This level of experience gives you basic ‘HOME’ practices you can give to bring some relief to body pain and stress.

About The Healing Art of Massage
“The massage therapy service industry is experiencing a remarkable period of expansion primarily because of the growing concern about health issues, the need for stress management, and the rising consideration of alternative solutions for wellness.”
The market for traditional massage therapists in India is experiencing significant growth, driven by rising awareness of the health and wellness benefits of massage, and the growth of wellness tourism sectors.
Today, due to the high stress lifestyles, promoting relaxation, stress relief and health benefits is on the rise! More and more people are recognising the importance of physical body wellness to bring about mental and body relaxation – a process of detoxification which now is contributing to the growing demand for health & Wellness centres across the country.

Major metropolitan cities such as Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore dominate this market due to their affluent customer base and increasing number of wellness centers. Additionally, with the governments focus on promoting wellness tourism, there is an increasing demand for health & Wellness services as they gain popularity.
Today there is a lack of trained professionals to be barriers in this growing market segment. This is why at Citter we are offering a skilled programme to train and skill our students to become professionally qualified therapists who are trained par-excellence. This is to cater to the expected growth by the increasing demand for wellness services. Our system of training goes with the governments initiative aimed at integrating traditional Indian therapies into modern wellness practices.

That is, the industry needs specialty treatment, novel service models with greater accessibility, and an improved customer experience, which are the next big things. Massage therapy has become a key part of the wellness industry and is well-recognized for its health advantages, both physical and mental.
Its applications vary from pain relief to muscle rehabilitation, to stress reduction, to overall health. With the increasing popularity of massage therapy services in the medical and recreational industries, it is increasingly becoming useful in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, gymnasiums, and spas as well.
Wellness tourism and corporate wellness programs are also driving the increase in demand. Though the industry has strong growth potential, it faces high charges for services and a shortage of trained massage therapists.

As more people engage in physically intensive lifestyles, the need for muscle recovery therapies continues to climb. Corporate wellness programs and physical therapy centers are also increasingly integrating deep tissue massages into their routines to alleviate muscular stress and improve flexibility. These services are particularly effective at targeting deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, making them highly suitable for rehabilitation.
